🔥 BURNIN’ FLAME 🔥

Going through a lot in life my flame still burns so bright, but to also inspire people to keep going through the tough times, rise above all the things you’ve been through, showcase your beautiful flame, time to own the things that people have been horrible about and things that you enjoy and love, all these things have helped me come up with the name.

I have a few people on the project too which is exciting (as you know I like collaborating)

On this project you’ll see me more determined than ever, feeling happier in myself, feeling a bit more confident and celebrating, but also we will be getting deep and being honest about a few things (so the highs and lows).

Are you ready for the new journey?

1. A New Adventure Begins

As the day begins and

Comes to greet me

I open my eyes,

I feel the sunlight on my face

Warm beams tickle my skin

A golden light

Dances around me

As I take it all in

I've been spending time working on me

Finally finding that spotlight

I'm feeling appreciative for everything

For people who have stood by my side

For the new amazing people I've met.

I’ve decided on this journey that I want

To bridge acting and poetry

Together

Connecting and

Weaving my skills together and

To go on this exciting new adventure

I wonder where it'll take me.

I observe this beautiful place

How wonderful to see the

Gorgeous trees dancing away,

The plants sunbathing,

The birds flying freely in the sky

To the

Crystal water intertwining into each other

It's incredible to just sit here

And see the greatness.

I’m emptying my mind

And just listening

To the sounds around me

Enjoying and loving the quiet so much.

The sun is radiating and shining away
On this extraordinary day

The new route is paved,
With a glowing path in sight

I'm so excited

This feels quite right

Welcome to

BURNIN’ FLAME.

2. RISE

I've been through some heavy storms

Journeying through

I've fallen down

Even when I tried to get up

I found myself back on the ground again

In those silent moments

I reminded myself to breathe and reflect,

Because

I've come so far, overcome

Many trials and tackled numerous obstacles

I flew up to embrace the joy of life

My wings are a lot stronger now and

Still glowing so radiant

I'm ready to take the next steps up

Elevating to the next level

Taking my time

As I move swiftly with elegance

Sparking my fire,

Spinning my magic in the air

As the stillness

Adds to the ambience

My eyes observe its every movement

As it burns and glows with passion

Happiness filled my soul
As enthusiasm overcame uncertainty
Dreams and aspirations still shine so dazzlingly in The distance.

I now see these things that have happened were Vital for me to learn,

So I could rise

To understand that no matter what happens

It’s okay to fall

It's how you ascend from the ashes and rubble After everything burns.

I'm turning my hurt and those chapters that Weren’t so good

Into a story of

Strength, power and triumph.

3. I Found My Voice (with Arnie The Beta)

MANNY:

It's taken me a while to find my voice

For so long I felt confused and lost

I tried to speak

But

I felt like my voice wasn't powerful enough

Trying to express how I feel

So much doubt was in my soul

So much racket clouded my mind

I've taken a few different paths,

Yet I still couldn't

Find my voice for a long time.

I wasn't sure what to do,

Where to look

Travelling through the heavy snow,

Icy rain, intense wind

And scorching blaze left me frozen,

Soaked, exhausted & grazed

Making it through all of that

I'm now standing tall

Above the chilly mountain peak

Finding my voice

Feeling proud as I speak

It might not always be the loudest

But when I speak

It has so much attached to it.

Arnie The Beta:

The poet tree was my high embrace,

Rooted in the warmth of a community,

A comforting choice,

Funneling inspiration,

Lifes navigation helped me find my voice,

I am breaking and entering into my convictions,

Funneling my truth behind bars has become a sweet addiction,

Illustrating from slip of the tongue is a salivating depiction,

Helping me to write whilst I remain in silence,

Soul emitting vocals it brings with vibrance,

I plead my art to call (article) to the 10th degree,

Y'all didn't know that was my freedom of succession,

Vocal ranges inspired by truth enrages within,

Soul resonance tilt my echos floating through wind pipes,

Words hit me till it exit wounds to make noise,

Via verbal holes my voice matches my internal inventions,

Outcries where I found my voice, that matched my intentions,

Felt like Colin Firth with the stammers,

Silent affirmations until I made a Kings speech,

Irregular with the recognition,

But remembered for how much this king preached,

Crowning in cadence I rejoice in what I express.

4. The Cold Air Crept In

The cold air crept in

Feeling like

I’m on a snowy battlefield with stones

Thrown at me and

Jabbed into my skin

I guess the sticks will follow after

Juggling everything at once

Was too much

Harsh winds picking me up into the air

And throwing me back to the floor

So slowly, I try to move

But the wind was refusing to give up

Making me feel powerless

Wait!

Wait!

Please just wait

Their words and actions

Were like a bow and arrow

The speed does

Not seem to want to slow, slow

Slow

Down

I'm now on the ground as

The pokes and words pierced my skin

Their movements were so

Sharp as they crept around.

So sneaky and crafty

Wait!

Wait!

Please just wait.

Now we're face to face

A strong stare-down contest begins

A freezing chill goes

Throughout my body

I begin to tremble

Feeling terrified like I'm

I’m in dark, murky water

Not finding a way out

Everywhere

I go seems to

Lead me to the same spot.

Trying to confine me

I feel worried

I can’t see anything

Everything is foggy

Not even my flame

Is lighting up the place.

I look up at the sky

Thinking about those brighter days

Grabbing hold of the lovely memories

Waiting patiently for the peace to enter

But then

Boom!

Boom!

The echoing sounds

Start drifting around

It surrounds and takes over

I try to ignore it, but it's not easy

Thoughts dart in and out so quickly

Like cars in a race

Crash!

Crash!

The piercing sounds

Clings itself to me

With it’s long tentacles

Not wanting to let go

It imitates me

Cluttering my mind

With cobwebs and spooky traps

It becomes

Eager and hungry for worry and doubt

Wait!

Wait!

Please just wait.

Trying to break out

But I’m stuck.

The coldness and all the uproar struck

I'm running out of luck,

Will this cold air ever leave?

5. Stormy Mind (with Gandy ‘de’ Great) [Explicit]

MANNY:

Life can be hard sometimes

So much pressure

Can live on shoulders

So much negativity can float around

Holding on to hope

But finding it slipping away

Turn the volume down and the

Vibrations too as

Life is so loud right now.

I feel like the day is closin’ in,

So much to get done,

But not enough time in the day

The list seems to

Be getting longer and longer

The walls are crumbling down

Around me

Turning into dust

The day has a tight grip on me

Trying to absorb my powers

I've been going through it lately

So much things are happening

A mix of emotions swirl around my body

Like a vortex

They dig so deep into my bones

Screeching, shrieking and creaking

With the weight of them

The occasional ray of glow

Attempts to break through

Offering me guidance

But it

Can't make it through

So I sit at the bottom of the well

Alone with the dark

Water slowly circled around me

As I think about this.

Gandy ‘de’ Great:

De thoughts dat torments

De words

Dat lingers like a bad breath

De pain dat cuts,

An tares not de flesh

But rips de spirit,

And splits de mind

Stormy mind of mine

Brains doing overtime

But

Dis didn't happen all at once

It happened once twice

It

Replayed & rewind

Mek ah decision

Tek ah risk

Throw de dice

Tek careful steps

Across de minefield

Seh ah prayer

Close yuh eyes

Open up fe realise

Shit hitting the fan

Explosion

Like ah nuclear bomb

Pieces of mind scattered

An now trying to piece it back

One by one

Whilst trying to keep line

De driven ambitions inside

De line start fe guh zig zag

An steeper de climp

But

Everyone

Guh tru it

Every human

Caz no one is better dan

No matter if yuh hav fans

Nuh matter if yuh have millions

Caz

No ones perfect,

But people

Mi ah tell jus some people

Like to act like they are

Like they don't have

Stormy thoughts

ill thoughts

But in ah Split second

Some ah we tink again

Before we break de law

Honesty nowadays

Is mixed wid words

De devils tainted

Hurt nuh always physical

Caz ah nuff heart

Start beat

Black & blue

Hmmm

MANNY nuh true

MANNY:

True

Gandy ‘de’ Great:

We

Caay bare fe deal wid

De fake energy wearying us dung

Wi wah create

Fruitful memories

Mix wid de bad an good

Stormy thoughts in mind

Will always be there

We jus affe know how fe control

The mood

The best you can

The best you could.

BURNIN’ FLAME (2023): Work

6. To Be Seen

I was afraid to be seen for years

Being seen

Was pretty scary to me

It came from not believing in myself

Afraid to get things wrong

Not getting many opportunities

I didn't question it

I just kept quiet.

I began

Fading into the back

It became a place

I got comfortable

I felt like it was

Where I had to be

Being told

I wasn't good enough for years

Being put on the shelf

Gathering up the dust

I felt like I was on

The outside looking in

Glazed with the downpour of rain

I felt so cold and so invisible.

I wasn't ready to

Take the steps forward

I had a lot of ideas to share,

But I was too scared

To be seen

I just wanted to hide

Staying at the back

I wasn't feeling confident to move

I was caught between the cracks

I didn't feel beautiful

People were calling me ugly for so long

That I started to believe it

There's nothing special

About me,

That's what I thought.

Feeling doubtful, so fearful

I found it so hard to breathe

To find the right words

To be heard

I felt like I was muted

To have a voice

I felt voiceless.

I’m in a place now

Where being seen isn’t as scary

As before

But

I’m still on that journey.

7. Kindness is Free

Sometimes the world can

Be dark and lonely

We need kindness in the world,

To bright it up

It’s free but I feel that

People forget that sometimes

Kindness costs nothing,

So instead of trying to break

Someone

Down

Let's encourage people more.

If only we would

Hold out our hands

To lead people into

Warm arms

To help people feel comfortable

Not fingers

Pointing out, excluding people

Making someone feel left out

If only we would help people more

Instead of looking for faults,

Judging the person,

Insulting and hurting people.

So let’s

Try a little

Kindness shall we?

At the end of the day

Kindness is free.

8. London (with Kiki)

Kiki:

My London is full of happiness

smiling bin men in the morning and bossman making us laugh at his corner shop

strangers in the ends don’t stay strangers for long.

By the time the term ends,

groups of baby moms make gangs for themselves.

My London can be unpredictable

you can see someone today and not see them tomorrow

the ends could be quiet one minute then full of police the next.

And the homeless guy down the road changes moods as the weather changes.

My London is colourful

graffiti laid out like paintings in a gallery

all telling a different story, all by different people

it’s not all city like everyone thinks, community gardens and public parks are dotted all around.

And block designs are more attractive, making the ends look less like a prison

My London can be scary

for people it’s safer to roam around at night but most have the same idea

residue of drunken friends leave traps in the morning.

Talk to someone the wrong way and you may not see the next day.

MANNY:

My London is full of happiness,

From places like:

V&A Museum,

London Dungeon, London Bridge, London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, London Zoo, Tate Modern and a lot more.

All these amazing things that people

Around

The world

Come to and celebrate with us.

My London can be frustrating,

From cancellations and delays on

Transport to

Unpredictable weather.

One minute the rays are shining

To the heavy rain

Pouring down and coldness

My London is vibrant,

A lot of different styles and loads of vibes.

People love all different types of music,

To

The way people dress

Embracing who they are.

My London is special,

Making these lifelong memories daily.

Where you can meet up

With people and head out

Shall we go down to the pub?

Or go for a rave at the club?

I've been working so hard

Time to let my hair down.

My London can be tasty,

I love myself some pie and mash,

Full English,

To a lovely roast dinner

And so much more.

My London can be busy

Everyone is always on a speed walk

No time to talk

But,

Some people love when the tea is hot

They're always ready for a cuppa.

My London can be

Accepting but also scary

For LGBTQIA+ people.

Yes London is

Accepting of people’s sexuality,

Compared to some other places

But people are still being

Hurt here and it's sad to see.

Kiki:

My London, is amazing

every vandalised sign, every graffiti wall

every bando, traphouse, opp block

every morleys, every yardie cuisine

every fox, pigeon and mouse.

Everything here creates the culture I love

a culture I couldn’t live without.

MANNY:

This is London

This is my comfort blanket

This is home.

9. BURNIN’ FLAME

I have a burning flame

That lives deep down inside me

The kind of ignited feeling

That

I’m going to showcase for you all.

I’m starting to live life to the fullest

My flame is gleaming and

Burning so bright

Thank you for

Supporting me and guiding me

After so many dark and chilly roads

I travelled down

Tried to blow my fire out

I fought through the blaze

And came out on the other side

I didn't know

I had this much power living inside me

Waiting to be free

The biggest thing I learned

Is to try and be brave,

And find the strength

But sometimes that can be difficult

I know that

I'm learning so much more about myself

Seeing all those things

That was put on the shelf

Over the years.

Finally loving

Parts of myself more than ever before

I'm feeling more beautiful

I continue to do my best

I'll work harder

I'll keep trying.

Feeling more determined than ever

I'm

Walking on these hot stepping stones

With a mighty purpose

Like a butterfly

I’ll be emerging from my cocoon,

And gliding on my rainbow wave

Bringing peace and harmony

But

I know that there's still a

Lot for me to learn about the world.

I'm going to do that slowly

While I turn up the heat,

Have fun and

Discover so much more.

I have a burning flame

That lives deep down inside me

The kind of ignited feeling

That I’m going to showcase for you all.

We all have a burning flame

That lives deep down inside us

The kind of ignited feeling that

We should showcase and not hide away.

10. Grow (with Rokat)

Rokat:

I feel sad and excited,

Afraid and happy,

Worried and relaxed,

Opposite ends of the emotional spectrum

Moving parallel in a constant.

That's the effect of change,

An evolution of your life,

The next phase you move on to.

The final frontier,

Or actually the next frontier.

Change,

The only constant

Yet it still takes you by surprise.

The rise and fall

Of the life you build,

Swept under the tide.

I trust in the unknown,

For in the past it has brought me fortune,

Though there is always the cost of comfort

But then how do we grow?

I have a fear of letting go,

It resonates in everything I do and have,

From movie tickets from my teen years,

Birthday cards in every year,

Concert tickets and club wristbands,

Don't even get me started on things I am a fan of.

But even people I cling to,

Friends and family,

All I hoard around me and when

The overflow breaks down my house

I have a sense of loss and peace.

Change

The only constant,

Yet we are shocked by it,

The seasons are the same,

And yet I am not prepared for it.

My pride.

MANNY:

I'm feeling happy and gloomy

Fierce and nervous

Total opposites.

Change can be scary

I know that

But it can also be exciting, rewarding and

It can shock you,

Make you

Pause for a moment,

Think about things

I didn’t feel courageous at all

Everything was cloudy

I was unsure

The yellow brick road

Might be shining but,

I was on a dreary grey road

I was not feeling

Confident to take that bold step ahead

I kept asking myself

Am I ready for this?

I've travelled a long journey already

And a lot of changes have happened

But without changes

How do we grow?

I now embrace the

Chapters that have come before

As it has helped me flourish

I trust in the unexpected

As it has delivered me so much

My pride,

The transformation has been amazing,

Growing out my exquisite wings

But the journey so far

Has had many obstacles

Stopping me in my path,

Strong freezing current

Knocking me side to side

Heavy fog taking over the place

Nearly making me lose all hope.

I know how scary it can be to start

Something fresh

And shift to something new,

But it can also bring you

Opportunities that you might not even

Imagine yourself doing.

Rokat:

The transformation is not the hard part,

But the wait before,

The calm before the storm

For in that moment your mind is a tornado

Of probabilities and chaos.

The what if fantasy

Causes more harm

Than actual reality.

So buckle up Dorothy,

And wave farewell to Kansas,

And embrace the technicolor new,

With all forms of colours and hues.

It is inevitable,

Am I prepared?

Pretend to look courageous,

Even if I am scared.

Change,

Is as old as time,

I embrace my truth,

And claim what is mine.

So let there be fear,

Let there be sorrow,

Because in the philosophy of change,

It will all be gone tomorrow.

11. Island Whine

Party time,

I’m ready to bring

My moves,

Dancin’ away

Yeah,

I have the groove

Droppin’ it low

And bringin’ it back up slow.

My

Island whine catches your eye

Time for you to reply

Feelin’ hot like we’re in July

The destination is the floor,

I'm ready to dance

And give you more and more

I'm M A N N Y

Tonight

I’m feelin’ so fly

I’m here for a good time

Bad vibes I have to decline

I'm a sweet one

With a tropical taste

Warming up the place

While

I'm whining my waist.

My body language

Is speakin’ to you

Let's see what you can do

You might

Get more than a preview.

Party time,

I’m ready to bring

My moves,

Dancin’ away

Yeah,

I have the groove

Droppin’ it low

And bringin’ it back up slow.

My

Island whine catches your eye

Time for you to reply

Feelin’ hot like we’re in July.

12. Set It Off

When I notice you

Walking in my direction,

Everything fades to black

A golden spotlight

Comes down on you

And we become the only people there.

It's only the two of us

Keepin’ it ignited

Bringin’ a new

Flavour into the space

We begin

Dancing away while the

Music speaks to us

The

Vibrations seem extra special

You feel the heat

When your hands meet my waist

Let's escape

Into our own private place

The lights begin to go down

While the heat begins to increase

Are you ready for an incredible time?

If you are

Then let’s set it off.

Body to body

Let's create our own warmth

We’re a spicy and sweet combination

Creating some magic on the dancefloor

While we're glistening

In shades of rosé wine

I hope you're not in a rush

Because we have the whole night

Give me

Wave after wave of delight.

This feels like a vacation

Beautiful island views

Blazing away in the hot sun

You’re so fine

I like the message you

Send when your body meets mine

The flames pick up

Around us

Looking into each other's eyes deeply

We're united.

Whatever happens after this night

At least we've had this moment.

13. Sweet Moments

Let's hold onto those sweet moments

Adore each of them

Catch them and give them a hug

It's all the moments we’ve experienced the good, But also the bad ones

Making those sweet

Moments extra sweeter

Let's have a good laugh

Let the tears stream down

Filling up each day with moments

Not missing out on the finer small details

The smell of that good food,

Those photos that created a smile,

But also make us cry

A song that brings you back to a certain

Moment in time

And you have to pull up

Because it's so good

A lyric that you can't forget

A line in a poem that

Hits you and you request a rewind

That wonderful feeling that

Makes it seem like

It's happening right now

Those special moments that

Come alive again

We should appreciate everything,

Especially the moments

As they can sprint past us so fast.

14. Empowered (with Maha)

Maha:

Can anybody hear me?

Can you see me?

I’m invisible; that’s my power

You can see me

under the microscope of poetry

Rhythms and rhymes don’t lie

even though I’ve been lying about my anxiety

I feel like I can’t breathe when

I’m already breathing

My heart is racing

it’s not a race

I’ve got to change the way I’m living when

I’m barely alive

Poetry keeps me alive

Writing is my power.

MANNY:

Can you see me?

Can you hear me?

Brave warrior,

Rise up out of the flames

Let your light shine out

Tackle those scary barriers

That stand in your way

There's

So much power in your words

Glad to hear that poetry

Is helping you.

Make sure you

Take your time as

There's no need to rush

Take care of your mental health

Take a deep breath in and out

Find things that help you feel calm

Always make time for healing

As life can be a whirlwind.

Time for you to stand up tall

As you celebrate

Your accomplishments and

All the things you've had to overcome

I can hear you

I can see you

I hope you can see me

I hope you can hear me

Hear these words.

BURNIN’ FLAME (2023): Work

15. Self Care

Self-care is not selfish and it should be something We're doing more.

I'm being more gentle with myself,

I’m taking care of my mental health

I’m learning to take more breaks now

Than before

Because I used to feel guilty

For taking a break

So I would continue working.

Self care for me is

Going to the cinema,

Playing on my Switch,

Taking a walk,

Getting some fresh air,

Listening to music,

Going for some real good food,

A cheeky drink

And a lot more.

It’s time to practice some self-love

To tell yourself

That you’re enough

To dust off the

Ashes and soar above

So learn a new hobby or hobbies,

That show, or film you really want to see you Should go and see it,

Learn something new,

Discover things as there's so much out there, be Kind to

People but also to yourself,

Take yourself to places that you like,

And take care of your body and mind

Whatever makes you happy

Do that!

Self-care is not selfish and it should be something We're doing more.

16. Every Cloud has a Rainbow Lining (with The Queen of Heartbreak)

Every cloud has a rainbow lining

One day, life forces you to hit reset

New beginnings are daunting, I know

But allowing space

For adaptation can create beauty

Sometimes you need to cut down the plant to let The flower grow

Let your inner creativity bloom

Taking time to dust off forgotten passions

Let your talent sparkle and shine

There’s always time

Let the electricity

Spark something exciting within.

Some days

We think our art is not that good

Feeling the terrible blues

Sat in the

Same spot thinking,

Curled up in a

Ball on the icy floor

Wrapped in a blanket of doubt.

We need to take the leap of faith

And travel through

The storm to grow and learn

Entertainment and colour

A distraction from fear and loneliness

Creativity shines through the dark

A collaboration of the arts

Bringing everyone inspiration and hope

Music, art and poetry LGBTQIA+

Promoting Inclusivity.

Hold your colourful flag high and celebrate

Your art, your power,

Creation & all of creativity

Love without boundaries

Support without compromise

Acceptance without reluctance

Connect. Create. Collaborate.

Everything we create

Becomes part of a special collection

A book of many achievements.

The sun and the rain meet

And together they

Paint a rainbow across the sky

All the tiny people of the world look up

At the miracle of nature

And find they feel less small.

We’re in this together so

Let’s aim high and shine

In the sky like a rainbow.

17. Spread Love Around

We need

More compassion

Sprinkled into the world

Not hate

More love spread around

Less judgement

Letting people be themselves

People coming together,

Listening to each other and

Being there for one another

Giving people a safe space

To express themselves

To feel free!

For people to be a part of something,

To feel seen,

Feeling connected and

Accepted is important

For people

To not feel alone

To not feel isolated

Breaking down the barricades that stand

Firmly in our way

Trying to make us feel

Like we’re not good enough

We're strong, remarkable

And so fabulous

Putting people into one box is not right

Let people spread their wings

And showcase their glorious light

Don't dampen it

Acknowledge that your actions

Will do more than you'll know;

When you scatter love everywhere,

It only starts to expand.

Do what you can to help people more

It doesn't hurt to smile at someone

Or ask someone how they're doing

Even just a simple hello

It's not that hard

Complimenting instead

Of putting someone down

Spread love in the whole world

Send it as far as you can

You think it might not do much

But it has such a

Big impact than you realise.

Remember

Love wins and we all have so much power to make A huge difference in the world

So spread love around.

18. Grateful & Blessed

I feel grateful and blessed with

Where I'm at,

The long journey I've been on

The ups and downs it’s been

A rollercoaster, the happiness, the confusion, the Sadness so many

Different emotions

I'm grateful to poetry for helping me,

Speak up about

How I'm feeling

And not feeling ashamed about it

A few years ago, I nearly stepped away from Creating all together,

The noise was a dark cloud that

Was just hovering and

Didn't want to evaporate away.

I feel proud to have continued,

Grateful for all the opportunities

I have been given

And blessed

With what I have in life right now

To be on stage sharing my words,

Pushing myself with the movements, bringing Acting and poetry together.

I’m feeling so much more braver

Sharing chapters from my story

Making my voice heard

Feeling thankful for the lessons

That have made me stronger

For holding out hope

When I thought

I couldn't hold on any longer

Now as I lay

Down on my bed

And get ready to shut my eyes

I feel so thankful,

Grateful & blessed right now

Thank you everyone for

Coming on this journey with me.
